PROJECT SUMMARY:

A couple's shared love for Italy is expressed in this charming kitchen, with a design reminiscent of Old World Tuscany. The owners of this home were pleased with the size of their kitchen, but not with the quality of the cabinetry and materials or the overall look of the room. The husband is of Italian heritage and the couple share a love of his homeland. They wanted to transform their kitchen into an expression of their personal tastes and create a room that would make one of their favorite activities?cooking and entertaining with friends and family easy and pleasurable. The new environment is evocative of Old World Tuscany but with all the modern conveniences of contemporary life.

The existing kitchen was outdated and difficult to navigate. The quality of the cabinetry left much to be desired, both in function and appearance.

2012 CotY Award for Residential Kitchens Over 120_After1

The new design transformed the kitchen from bland to stunning with an imaginative fusion of authentic Old World charm and contemporary convenience. A generously sized Mascarilla granite island in rich, warm tones was designed with a countertop stove and abundant storage options below for cooking, baking and serving tasks.
