First Impressions

Stina
Client Relations Manager and Assistant to CEO

As Client Relations Manager and Assistant to the CEO, Stina is one of the main points of client contact at Jackson Design and Remodeling. With a zeal for client care, attention to detail and reliable efficiency, Stina clearly communicates with clients what they can realistically expect as they embark upon a remodeling project. She develops and implements new systems and organizes information in an accessible, appealing way to maximize team productivity and customer satisfaction.

Stina was born and raised in Connecticut, where her parents bought a historical home, built in 1908, that became a beloved renovation project for the whole family. After college, she moved to New York and then on to San Diego to earn her MBA. Stina has always been interested in the way things work and enjoys learning about the technical aspects of remodeling. But she finds her greatest satisfaction at work from making people happy with a job well done. Contact Stina

Jim
Licensed Architect
LEED Green Associate

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

Jim combines his strong command of architecture with a depth of knowledge gathered over years in the remodeling industry to skillfully guide clients through the initial phases of a project with Jackson Design and Remodeling. Jim meets one-on-one with clients to introduce the Jackson Design and Remodeling team and the company's comprehensive design build services, helping clients visualize how JDR works to transform their homes. He leads clients to a clear understanding of the remodeling process, helps them articulate their needs and desires for a new space, and works with clients and the design team to coordinate a project's initial design phase.

Jim is a native of Phoenix, AZ, where he owned an architectural firm for five years before moving to San Diego in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Before joining Jackson Design and Remodeling, Jim worked for nineteen years at another large remodeling firm, where he practiced his skills as an In-house Architect and worked for ten years as General Manager. He was drawn to the innovative design principles and customer service responsiveness at JDR. Jim is a member of the San Diego Rotary Club 33 and has been published locally as an architect.

Chris
Structural Design Dept. Head, Architectural Designer

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

During more than seventeen years of experience in the field, Chris has won multiple awards for his work. As JDR's Structual Department Head and Architectual Designer, Chris brings his creativity, attention to detail and efficiency to each project as he helps client realize their remodeling dreams by transforming existing structures and designing new ones. Chris was raised in San Diego and was already interested in architectural design at the age of eight. His passion motivated him to pursue classes in high school where he received all the industrial arts awards available for design and drafting in his senior year. After attaining his Degree in Architectural and Structural Design, Chris immediately began working with a professional design company. He joined Jackson Design and Remodeling in 2001, where his vast knowledge has significantly contributed to the company's growth and success.

Chris's unique designs have been featured in various publications including San Diego Home and Garden and The Union Tribune. Alongside JDR's Interior Designers, his projects have won numerous awards, including Chrysalis Awards (Finest Remodeling Projects in the US, Qualified Remodelers) and CotY Awards (Contractor of the Year, National Association of the Remodeling Industry). Several of the homes he has designed have been featured in ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Kitchen Tours. Chris's experience and unprecedented talent make him an incredible asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team.

John
Architectural Designer

Previous to joining Jackson Design and Remodeling as an Architectural Designer, John worked for more than 25 years in the architectural field. He was self-employed for several years, operating his own architectural design firm, which specialized in high-end residential projects. John holds a BArch from Cal Polytechnic University Ponoma, where he majored in the School of Environmental Design. His extensive experience includes project management, with skills in construction document preparation, sub contractor coordination, construction drawings and the submission of plans for permits. John is proficient in a range of architectural design software. His technical skills and wide ranging experience in the architectural field help to ensure a smooth process and memorable experience for JDR's clients.

Cindy
Licensed Landscape Architect

Cindy is a California Registered Landscape Architect who has created award-winning designs for urban centers, residential and commercial developments, hotels, recreational facilities, public parks and private residences throughout the Southwest and Hawaii for more than 30 years. Her designs are living architecture, expressing her natural talent for capturing the essence of the harmony between man and nature. Cindy's extensive knowledge of horticulture makes her particularly adept at working with clients to create both majestic and intimate gardens.

Cindy is a member of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), CLCA (California Landscape Contractors Association) and the San Diego Horticultural Society. She has been featured on the DIY network's hit television shows; "Indoors Out" and "Rock Solid," and her work has been highlighted in multiple print publications. When she's not crafting her next masterpiece, she donates her time judging, exhibiting and speaking at garden shows and seminars.

Tatiana
Design Department Manager and Senior Designer, CKD

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

Tatiana is Jackson Design and Remodeling's Design Department Manager and Senior Designer. Originally from Mexico City, Tatiana graduated from the Design Institute of San Diego with a BFA in Interior Design and has excelled in the field for over fourteen years. She earned her CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) accreditation through the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association.) Prior to joining the Jackson Design and Remodeling team, Tatiana spent several years working on high-end single and multi-unit residential projects, specializing in contemporary European design. More recently, she has focused her attention on whole house projects. The variety of styles she introduces reveal her broad range of talent and in-depth understanding of client needs. Her passion for beautiful kitchen design is evident in the style and functionality she infuses into each project she undertakes. Tatiana's efficient management of the design department ensures smooth communication and implementation while the design and production departments work together to make each project a success.

Tatiana is a member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and her projects have been published numerous times in Better Homes and Gardens, San Diego Home and Garden, Décor and Style and The Union Tribune. A prestigious newspaper in Mexico has featured weekly articles on design trends with Tatiana’s collaboration, and her projects have been displayed in the ASID Kitchen Tour since 2002. Tatiana's distinct talent, attention to client satisfaction and remarkable project outcomes are all part of her substantial contribution to JDR.

Sol
Senior Designer

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

Sol, Senior Designer for the Jackson Design and Remodeling design team, is a multiple-award winning professional with more than ten years of experience as an Architectural Designer. Sol applies her considerable skills from the studio and the field to transform her clients' visions into stunning reality. Sol was born and raised in Argentina where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. She was involved in the design of various projects in Buenos Aries before moving to Southern California where she now continues her passion for artistic, impressive designs for the home.

Sol has been featured in various publications including San Diego Home and Garden and The Union Tribune. She has also received numerous awards for her designs from ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), Chrysalis Awards (Finest Remodeling Projects in the US, Qualified Remodelers) and CotY Awards (Contractor of the Year, National Association of Remodeling Industry.) One of Sol's kitchens was featured in the 2007 ASID Kitchen Tour.

Sol is inspired by the myriad cultures she has enjoyed during her travels in South America, North America and Europe. She takes the utmost care to incorporate each individual client's personal hopes, dreams, inspirations, and requirements into her unique design solutions and complimentary style suggestions. Sol's experience and talent make her an incredible asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team.

Rosella
Designer

Rosella, Designer for the Jackson Design and Remodeling team, was born in San Diego and raised in Mexico where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and launched her professional career with an internship in an architectural design firm. Soon after, she moved back to her birthplace, where she worked in the natural stone design field and developed extensive experience with countertop and tile work design for kitchen and bathroom remodels. After earning a Master of Science in Architecture from The New School of Architecture and Design, with a focus on sustainable design and green construction materials, Rosella shifted her career track from tile work design to comprehensive design and architecture for interiors.

Rosella's education in architecture, passion for art and exposure to a variety of cultures and lifestyles influence her design approach. Rosella embraces diversity, vital to the process of understanding the needs, style and aspiration of each client. Her creativity, special attention to detail and excellent technical skills lead to functional spaces with exceptional composition and flow. Rosella's vision is to design efficient, beautiful and healthy interiors that contribute to the well being of our environment and the happiness of homeowners.

Marisela
Assistant Designer

Marisela earned an Interior Design Associates Degree from FIDM in Los Angeles, California. She comes from a family of artists who show their work in exhibitions throughout San Diego. As a Design Assistant, Marisela uses her understanding of design and enthusiasm for art to produce outstanding results in true-to-life renderings and beautiful design board layouts, which help JDR clients visualize what their home remodel will accomplish. Marisela creates accurate construction drawings reflecting finished materials and uses her meticulous organizational skills to help manage a project's information and material selections to smoothly transition into construction.

Alison
Assistant Designer

Alison earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego and was a student member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Her exceptional technical and artistic skills are expressed in the creative work she performs as an Assistant Designer for Jackson Design and Remodeling, helping to bring concepts to life for our clients as they plan their remodeling dreams. Alison is adept at hand and digital rendering, which she applies in the creation of the stunning presentation boards JDR clients view during a remodel's design phase. Alison's emphasis on client service and clear communication make her an asset to any project.

Jen
Assistant Designer

Her artistic and highly creative nature is put to good use in Jen's position as an Assistant Designer for Jackson Design and Remodeling. A specialist in material selection, hand and computer renderings and board construction, Jen balances these technical capabilities with a focus on excellent client service. She is passionate about learning new concepts, staying current with industry trends and helping JDR's clients visualize their needs and dreams for their homes. Jen earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute of California San Diego.

Justin
Estimator

Justin has over ten years of experience as an Estimator and has been in the construction industry for his entire professional life. His skills include estimating the construction of custom spec homes and extensive residential remodels and additions. He has bid large residential developments, along with commercial improvements for a variety of clients and community projects. Justin continues to improve his knowledge and skills by researching changing regulations and building practices. His comprehensive knowledge, broad experience and attention to detail support JDR's focus on providing our clients with exceptionally accurate and timely estimates for all projects.

Eugene
Project Manager

Before he became a Project Manager with Jackson Design and Remodeling, Eugene owned a successful remodeling firm of his own. He came to work for JDR with over 30 years of construction experience and quickly positioned himself as a leader. Eugene's "get it done" attitude, combined with his expertise in all areas of project and business management, help successfully support and guide JDR's field personnel and subcontractors to exceed client expectations at every stage of construction.

Joe
Project Manager

Certified Green Professional (CGP)

With over thirty years of experience in construction, Joe has a working knowledge of every aspect of the remodeling industry. As a Project Manager for Jackson Design and Remodeling, Joe oversees subcontractors and employees on the jobsite, reads and interprets blueprints, meets with inspectors and ensures code compliance, while working both in the field and in the office. Having owned a construction business in the past, Joe understands the importance of building excellent relationships with each JDR client. This knowledge underscores all of his client interactions.

Don
Project Manager

Don, a San Diego native, has worked in residential construction for over 25 years. He is thoroughly versed in the construction process from excavation to finish. A licensed General Contractor, Don's extensive experience is invaluable on the jobsite. He reads and interprets blueprints, meets with inspectors and ensures code compliance, with a continual focus on client satisfaction. Don works in both the field and the office, scheduling and overseeing the work for JDR field employees and subcontractors, while ensuring that each project exceeds client expectations.

Administration Team

Minh
Financial Controller

Minh, Financial Controller, joined Jackson Design and Remodeling in 2005. Previously, Minh spent over twenty years in the accounting field, working as a Cost Accountant, Property Accountant and Controller. Originally from South Vietnam, Minh arrived in the United States in 1981. He graduated from United College of Business and successfully passed the H&R Block Tax course in 1988. Minh has participated in numerous financial seminars and possesses an extensive knowledge of corporate financial and tax laws. He currently oversees daily operations of the accounting department. Alongside the CEO, Minh directs and manages the company’s financial planning and budgets, and recommends benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of each department and the company as a whole. Minh produces monthly financial reports, prepares financial forecasts and conducts internal financial audits. He works closely with department managers and corporate staff to develop strategic business planning. Minh assists the CEO in establishing and implementing short-term and long-term department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.

Maria
Accounting Assistant

Maria, JDR's Accounting Assistant, was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Boston, where she became an avid Red Sox fan. She earned her BS from the School of Management at Boston College and has over 10 years of accounting experience in the building industry. At JDR, Maria acts as a liaison between field personnel, office staff, and project superintendents, and ensures that all accounting practices are handled promptly, accurately and professionally. Her dedication to accurate numbers, spreadsheets and details makes Maria a valuable asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team.

Jennifer
Receptionist/Administrative Assistant

Jennifer's background in both administration and graphic design is the perfect combination of efficiency and creativity. She brings a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to her position as Jackson Design and Remodeling's Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. Accomplished at handling multiple deadlines and delivering results under pressure, Jennifer is a trusted resource at the front desk. Before joining JDR, Jennifer worked as a marketing communications specialist, a graphic design department assistant, and a freelance graphic designer. She also exhibited her inherent team spirit and leadership skills as an assistant coach of women's varsity basketball at James Madison High School. Jennifer earned an Associates of Arts in Transfer Studies from San Diego Mesa College and an Associates of Science in Computer Graphic Design from Coleman University.

CoCo
Marketing Director

Jackson Design and Remodeling's Marketing Director, CoCo is the guardian of the company's brand. She drives JDR's vision by leading and overseeing the development of an imaginative, integrated marketing approach. CoCo conducts research, assesses data analysis and develops comprehensive marketing strategies that support the company's long-term goals. A graduate of Longwood University in Virginia, CoCo has worked in the San Diego, Washington, D.C., Richmond and Atlanta markets during her impressive career. She supports ongoing innovation in the remodeling industry through her involvement in the U.S. Green Building Council and the San Diego Center for Sustainability. CoCo also contributes her skills and energy to the community, volunteering with organizations such as the San Diego Film Festival and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
