Stina
Client Relations Manager and Assistant to CEO
As Client Relations Manager and Assistant to the CEO, Stina is one of the main points of client contact at Jackson Design and Remodeling. With a zeal for client care, attention to detail and reliable efficiency, Stina clearly communicates with clients what they can realistically expect as they embark upon a remodeling project. She develops and implements new systems and organizes information in an accessible, appealing way to maximize team productivity and customer satisfaction.
Stina was born and raised in Connecticut, where her parents bought a historical home, built in 1908, that became a beloved renovation project for the whole family. After college, she moved to New York and then on to San Diego to earn her MBA. Stina has always been interested in the way things work and enjoys learning about the technical aspects of remodeling. But she finds her greatest satisfaction at work from making people happy with a job well done. Contact Stina

Jim

Jim combines his strong command of architecture with a depth of knowledge gathered over years in the remodeling industry to skillfully guide clients through the initial phases of a project with Jackson Design and Remodeling. Jim meets one-on-one with clients to introduce the Jackson Design and Remodeling team and the company's comprehensive design build services, helping clients visualize how JDR works to transform their homes. He leads clients to a clear understanding of the remodeling process, helps them articulate their needs and desires for a new space, and works with clients and the design team to coordinate a project's initial design phase.
Jim is a native of Phoenix, AZ, where he owned an architectural firm for five years before moving to San Diego in 1989. He received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Before joining Jackson Design and Remodeling, Jim worked for nineteen years at another large remodeling firm, where he practiced his skills as an In-house Architect and worked for ten years as General Manager. He was drawn to the innovative design principles and customer service responsiveness at JDR. Jim is a member of the San Diego Rotary Club 33 and has been published locally as an architect.
Chris
Structural Design Dept. Head, Architectural Designer
During more than seventeen years of experience in the field, Chris has won multiple awards for his work. As JDR's Structual Department Head and Architectual Designer, Chris brings his creativity, attention to detail and efficiency to each project as he helps client realize their remodeling dreams by transforming existing structures and designing new ones. Chris was raised in San Diego and was already interested in architectural design at the age of eight. His passion motivated him to pursue classes in high school where he received all the industrial arts awards available for design and drafting in his senior year. After attaining his Degree in Architectural and Structural Design, Chris immediately began working with a professional design company. He joined Jackson Design and Remodeling in 2001, where his vast knowledge has significantly contributed to the company's growth and success.
Chris's unique designs have been featured in various publications including San Diego Home and Garden and The Union Tribune. Alongside JDR's Interior Designers, his projects have won numerous awards, including Chrysalis Awards (Finest Remodeling Projects in the US, Qualified Remodelers) and CotY Awards (Contractor of the Year, National Association of the Remodeling Industry). Several of the homes he has designed have been featured in ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) Kitchen Tours. Chris's experience and unprecedented talent make him an incredible asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team.
John
Architectural Designer
Previous to joining Jackson Design and Remodeling as an Architectural Designer, John worked for more than 25 years in the architectural field. He was self-employed for several years, operating his own architectural design firm, which specialized in high-end residential projects. John holds a BArch from Cal Polytechnic University Ponoma, where he majored in the School of Environmental Design. His extensive experience includes project management, with skills in construction document preparation, sub contractor coordination, construction drawings and the submission of plans for permits. John is proficient in a range of architectural design software. His technical skills and wide ranging experience in the architectural field help to ensure a smooth process and memorable experience for JDR's clients.
Cindy
Licensed Landscape Architect
Cindy is a California Registered Landscape Architect who has created award-winning designs for urban centers, residential and commercial developments, hotels, recreational facilities, public parks and private residences throughout the Southwest and Hawaii for more than 30 years. Her designs are living architecture, expressing her natural talent for capturing the essence of the harmony between man and nature. Cindy's extensive knowledge of horticulture makes her particularly adept at working with clients to create both majestic and intimate gardens.
Cindy is a member of ASLA (American Society of Landscape Architects), CLCA (California Landscape Contractors Association) and the San Diego Horticultural Society. She has been featured on the DIY network's hit television shows; "Indoors Out" and "Rock Solid," and her work has been highlighted in multiple print publications. When she's not crafting her next masterpiece, she donates her time judging, exhibiting and speaking at garden shows and seminars.

Tatiana
Design Department Manager and Senior Interior Designer, CKD

Tatiana Machado-Rosas is Jackson Design and Remodeling's Design Department Manager and Senior Designer. Tatiana has excelled in her field for more than two decades and her leadership of the Jackson Design and Remodeling design team has inspired multiple award-winning projects. Originally from Mexico City, Tatiana has traveled throughout the world, gaining inspiration from many cultures before making San Diego her home 20 years ago. She graduated from the Design Institute of San Diego with a BFA in Interior Design. She earned her CKD (Certified Kitchen Designer) accreditation through the NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association.) Tatiana is an active member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and her projects have been displayed in the ASID Kitchen Tour since 2002.
Tatiana's projects have been recognized by ASID (Design Excellence Awards), NKBA (NKBA Star Awards), NARI (CotY Awards), Qualified Remodeler (Master Design Awards) and the Chrysalis Awards. Her designs have been published numerous times in such publications as Better Homes and Gardens, San Diego Magazine, Qualified Remodeler, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles, Kitchens, Ranch & Coast, Kitchen & Bath Design News, and The UT San Diego. One of her kitchen designs was recently named Best Kitchen by the readers of Architectural Digest in their 2013 Before + After: Reader Kitchens contest. In 2009, Tatiana was honored with a Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) award from the YWCA. In 2010, Tatiana was named to San Diego Metropolitan Magazine's "40 Under 40," an annual list of the 40 individuals under the age of 40 whose outstanding business and civic contributions are shaping the region's future. A prestigious newspaper in Mexico has featured weekly articles on design trends with Tatiana's collaboration.
Tatiana's creative inspiration, innovative skills and intuitive understanding of client needs is demonstrated in the diverse solutions she creates, always uniquely suited to each individual client. Her passion for beautiful design is evident in the style and functionality she infuses into each project she undertakes. Tatiana's effective management of the design department ensures smooth communication and implementation while the design and production departments work together to make each project a success. Her distinct talent, attention to client satisfaction and remarkable project outcomes are all part of her substantial contribution to JDR.
Sol
Senior Interior Designer

Sol, Senior Designer for the Jackson Design and Remodeling design team, is a multiple-award winning professional with more than ten years of experience as an Architectural Designer. Sol applies her considerable skills from the studio and the field to transform her clients' visions into stunning reality. Sol was born and raised in Argentina where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. She was involved in the design of various projects in Buenos Aries before moving to Southern California where she now continues her passion for artistic, impressive designs for the home.
Sol has been featured in various publications including Beautiful Kitchens & Baths, Signature Kitchens, San Diego Magazine, Dream Kitchens & Baths, San Diego Home & Garden/Lifestyles, Kitchens, U-T San Diego, Remodeling Magazine and Ranch & Coast. Sol is inspired by the myriad cultures she has enjoyed during her travels in South America, North America and Europe. She takes the utmost care to incorporate each individual client's personal hopes, dreams, inspirations, and requirements into her unique design solutions and complimentary style suggestions. Sol's experience and talent make her an incredible asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team.
Pamela
Senior Interior Designer
Pamela is an accomplished interior designer with a diverse set of skills and experience. In addition to her career in design, Pamela also worked for many years in the hospitality industry with a four-star, five-diamond, Triple A resort, giving her a strong foundation in high level service and an understanding of how to create comfortable, luxurious surroundings. Pamela earned a BA in Applied Arts & Sciences from San Diego State University with an emphasis in Interior Design. Before joining Jackson Design and Remodeling as a Senior Interior Designer, she worked in the design build industry in the San Diego area for several years, specializing in high end custom home design. Pamela is well-versed in all aspects of residential design, including architectural planning, cabinetry design, energy-efficient design, and project management.
Helping clients achieve a vision for their homes and bringing that vision to life is a passion for Pam, who has dedicated much of her career to extraordinary client care. Pam is dedicated to building strong relationships with clients, vendors and other team members. Pam's abilities to guide, inspire and create help Jackson Design and Remodeling clients to imagine new creative and functional possibilities for their homes.
Rosella
Senior Interior Designer
Allied ASID
Rosella, a Senior Interior Designer for the Jackson Design and Remodeling team, has built her exceptional skills during more than 10 years of experience in the industry. She is a native of Mexico where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture and launched her career with an internship in an architectural design firm. In addition to her Bachelor's degree, Rosella earned a Masters of Science in Architecture from The New School of Architecture and Design. Since Rosella moved to San Diego in 2005, she has continued to thrive as an Interior Designer focusing on comprehensive design and architecture for interiors. She has worked with clients on projects ranging from bathrooms and kitchens to whole home remodels. Her projects have been recognized by ASID (Design Excellence Awards), NARI (CotY Awards), Qualified Remodeler Magazine (Master Design Awards), and the Chrysalis Awards. Her work has been featured in various publications including Union Tribune, San Diego Home/Garden Lifestyles and the front cover of Qualified Remodeler Magazine. Rosella is an Allied member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and an active member of NKBA (National Kitchen and Bath Association).
Rosella's work is inspired by each client's personality and lifestyle; she believes in expressing each client's story in their home's design. She thinks of every design as a journey and each project as an exploratory creative partnership with the client. Rosella's talent, tenacity, attention to detail, and clear communication are just few of the tools she brings to JDR's professional design team.
Alison
Interior Designer
Allied ASID
Alison earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from the Design Institute of San Diego and is an Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID). Her exceptional technical and artistic skills are expressed in the creative work she performs as an Interior Designer for Jackson Design and Remodeling, helping to bring concepts to life for our clients as they plan their remodeling dreams.
Alison was inspired to pursue a career in design from a young age. When her family moved from the home they had lived in for her whole life into a new house that required a whole home design, Alison discovered how much she enjoyed creating from a blank slate and knew she wanted to work toward a creative career. The evolving perspectives of professional interior design and the chance to help people envision how their homes can better suit their lifestyles and aspirations drives Alison's passion for design. Her essential helping nature is also expressed in her church group, which assists people in need by sprucing up their homes with love and care. Alison is highly proficient with social media and technology and applies those skills in her client relationships as a way to gather diverse information and find inspiration. Alison's enthusiasm for helping clients transform their homes and her emphasis on clear communication make her an asset to any project.
Caroline
Cabinet Design Specialist
A native of Winston-Salem, NC, Caroline was new to San Diego when she joined the JDR team as a Cabinet Design Specialist. She graduated from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with a BA in Psychology. Her father owned a building supply company and from an early age Caroline was surrounded by construction and fascinated by drawing floor plans and "dream homes." Caroline co-owned a kitchen and bath design firm in North Carolina, where she attained hands-on experience in kitchen and bath design. As part of JDR's Design Department, Caroline creates cabinetry drawings and digital renderings as well as pricing, ordering and installation layouts for our clients.
Marisela
Assistant Designer
Marisela earned an Interior Design Associates Degree from FIDM in Los Angeles, California. She comes from a family of artists who show their work in exhibitions throughout San Diego. As a Design Assistant, Marisela uses her understanding of design and enthusiasm for art to produce outstanding results in true-to-life renderings and beautiful design board layouts, which help JDR clients visualize what their home remodel will accomplish. Marisela creates accurate construction drawings reflecting finished materials and uses her meticulous organizational skills to help manage a project's information and material selections to smoothly transition into construction.
Jen
Assistant Designer
Allied ASID
Her artistic and highly creative nature is put to good use in Jen's position as an Assistant Designer for Jackson Design and Remodeling. A specialist in material selection, hand and computer renderings and board construction, Jen balances these technical capabilities with a focus on excellent client service. She is passionate about learning new concepts, staying current with industry trends and helping JDR's clients visualize their needs and dreams for their homes. Jen earned a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from The Art Institute of California San Diego and is currently pursuing her Masters in Interior Architecture from UCLA.
Vanessa
Assistant Designer
Vanessa graduated with Highest Honors for Outstanding Academic Achievement from the Art Institute of California - San Diego and earned an Associate of Science in Graphic Design from Southwestern College. Vanessa skillfully employs her diverse creative skills and impressive educational background as an Assistant Designer. Vanessa is passionate about art and design and dedicated to continually advancing her skills and knowledge. With exceptional professionalism and an enthusiastic attitude, Vanessa contributes to creating successful projects for our JDR clients.
Olga
Assistant Designer
Attracted to the excitement of creativity and color, Olga dreamed about becoming an interior designer at a young age. She is a native of Mexico and earned a Bachelor of Science from The Art Institute of California San Diego. As a Design Assistant for Jackson Design and Remodeling, Olga is inspired by her passion for functional and beautiful spaces to produce meticulous renderings and design board layouts. Her talent for capably handling details is applied in a position that requires a significant level of organizational skills. Olga enjoys engaging with her team and JDR clients and is active in community volunteer work.
Karina
Assistant Designer
Karina returned to JDR as an Assistant Designer after leaving the country when her husband was called overseas for military duty. Born in Poland, Karina called Europe home for many years and her design aesthetic is influenced by that experience. She earned an Associate degree in Interior Design from the San Diego Mesa School. She switched her major from fashion design to interior design midway when she realized she was more interested in designing the store than designing the clothes at the retail job she had while attending school. Karina is passionate about creating renderings that help clients visualize their space. She also loves to capture the technical details, working behind the scenes to assure that every client has a positive experience with the JDR team. Karina is an avid runner and has participated in several local charity races.
Susan
Assistant Designer, CID, AKBD
Allied ASID
After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Interior Design degree from the Design Institute of San Diego, Susan gained experience in the field in a variety of industry positions. Her background includes project management, space planning and material selection. As an Assistant Designer for JDR, Susan contributes her skills as the design team leads a successful project from inception to completion. Her passion for beautiful design and her attention to creating a exceptional experience for clients make Susan an invaluable member of the design team.

Justin
Production Manager
As Production Manager for JDR, Justin leads our team of Project Managers and Field Personnel and applies extensive knowledge and hands-on experience gained during a lifetime spent in the remodeling industry. His comprehensive understanding of remodeling and conscientious attention to detail support JDR's focus on providing our clients with an exceptional experience on every project. Justin manages projects on the jobsite and in the office. He is dedicated to clear, timely communication with clients, effective management of project managers, subcontractors and field personnel, and the successful on time, on budget completion of every project.
Joe
Project Manager
With over thirty years of experience in construction, Joe has a working knowledge of every aspect of the remodeling industry. As a Project Manager for Jackson Design and Remodeling, Joe oversees subcontractors and employees on the jobsite, reads and interprets blueprints, meets with inspectors and ensures code compliance, while working both in the field and in the office. Having owned a construction business in the past, Joe understands the importance of building excellent relationships with each JDR client. This knowledge underscores all of his client interactions.
Mike
Project Manager
Mike started working in the construction industry as a teenager and found a lifelong occupation. Beginning as a layout/plater and framer for a construction company specializing in new home developments, he soon worked his way up to Project Management. Mikes' extensive experience is invaluable in both the field and the office. He reads and interprets blueprints, meets with inspectors and ensures code compliance, with a continual focus on customer satisfaction. Overseeing multiple job sites, Mike ensures that each project exceeds client expectations.
Don
Project Manager
In his position as Project Manager for JDR, Don uses the experience and knowledge he has gained during over 23 years in the remodeling industry. With the goal of creating an exceptional client experience for each project, Don ensures code compliance, manages employees and subcontractors, and assures the timely completion of all the details involved in a successful remodel. After a lifetime spent in the industry, Don understands the importance of exceeding client expectations and is dedicated to making that happen on each project.
Jesse
Project Manager
After almost two decades in the construction industry, Jesse brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Jackson Design and Remodeling jobsite. He has hands-on experience in all phases of construction and is well-informed about the latest materials and methods. Jesse has worked on many high end residential design and build projects, supervising staff, managing deadlines and budgets, and communicating with clients and vendors. Jesse's communication skills, along with his dedication to meeting deadlines while maintaining the highest quality work are valuable assets in the work environment. Jesse oversees multiple projects and ensures Jackson Design and Remodeling clients each have an exceptional, stress-free remodeling experience.
Mark
Estimator
Mark has an extensive range of estimating experience, including commercial, custom home building and remodeling. As an estimator, Mark produces the uncommonly comprehensive, accurate and timely cost estimates Jackson Design and Remodeling has implemented as part of a positive experience for all clients. Mark analyzes and organizes the costs for each project, from the smallest details to the most significant expenses, so that each client knows how much a project will cost before the project begins.
Field Personnel

Jackson Design and Remodeling attributes much of our success to the great people behind the scenes who have worked with our company since 1989. The talented craftspeople who handle electrical, plumbing, carpentry, demolition work, painting and many other related tasks out in the field for Jackson Design and Remodeling support our mission to build clients for life. We believe that people make the difference when it comes to producing successful projects with outstanding customer satisfaction, and we thank all the people who have worked on our projects throughout the years.
Administration Team
Maria
Financial Controller
Maria, JDR's Financial Controller, earned her BS from the School of Management at Boston College and has over 12 years of accounting experience in the building industry. Alongside the CEO, Maria directs and manages the company's financial planning and budgets, and recommends benchmarks for measuring performance. She produces monthly financial reports, prepares financial forecasts and conducts internal financial audits. Maria assists the CEO in establishing and implementing short-term and long-term department goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures. Her dedication to both strategy and details makes Maria a valuable asset to the Jackson Design and Remodeling team. Maria was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Boston, where she became an avid Red Sox fan.
Angelica
Accounting Assistant
Angelica, JDR's Accounting Assistant, acts as a liaison between field personnel, office staff, and project managers, and ensures that all accounting practices are handled promptly, accurately and professionally. Angelica brings a high level of enthusiasm and dedication to projects which require research and problem-solving with an emphasis on customer service. Her efficient administrative abilities, excellent organizational skills and extensive technical knowledge are an effective contribution to the accounting team.
Jennifer
Office Administrator
Jennifer's background in both administration and graphic design is the perfect combination of efficiency and creativity. She brings a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills to her position as Jackson Design and Remodeling's Office Administrator. Accomplished at handling multiple deadlines and delivering results under pressure, Jennifer is a trusted resource at the front desk. Before joining JDR, Jennifer worked as a marketing communications specialist, a graphic design department assistant, and a freelance graphic designer. She also exhibited her inherent team spirit and leadership skills as an assistant coach of women's varsity basketball at James Madison High School. Jennifer earned an Associates of Arts in Transfer Studies from San Diego Mesa College and an Associates of Science in Computer Graphic Design from Coleman University.

CoCo
Marketing Director
Jackson Design and Remodeling's Marketing Director, CoCo is the guardian of the company's brand. She drives JDR's vision by leading and overseeing the development of an imaginative, integrated marketing approach. CoCo conducts research, assesses data analysis and develops comprehensive marketing strategies that support the company's long-term goals. A graduate of Longwood University in Virginia, CoCo has worked in the San Diego, Washington, D.C., Richmond and Atlanta markets during her impressive career. She supports ongoing innovation in the remodeling industry through her involvement in the U.S. Green Building Council and the San Diego Center for Sustainability. CoCo also contributes her skills and energy to the community, volunteering with organizations such as the San Diego Film Festival and the Challenged Athletes Foundation.
