| Inspired by
the year of Gary and Marsha Tepners Mission Hills home, designer Tatiana
Machado-Rosas used white, yellow, eggplant and dark-green tile as a key
element to give their kitchen that 1920s appeal. All-white cabinetry, walls,
molding and bead-board ceiling keep colors from overpowering the room.
There was hardly any countertop surface to work on and they needed more storage, says Machado-Rosas. Not wanting to steal space from adjacent rooms, Machado-Rosas used the existing footage to the maximum. By removing a beam, a much better floor plan was created to lay out cabinetry, countertops and appliances. The new Aga range is housed in a specially designed niche with a yellow tiled arch. |
