Our Chic, Modern Farmhouse in La Jolla is a Nominee in HGTV’s 2022 Ultimate Outdoor Awards Competition!

Vote online through April 12 at HGTV.com

HGTV editors selected JDR’s recently completed La Jolla remodel — a chic, modern farmhouse – as a nominee in the 2022 HGTV Ultimate Outdoor Awards competition in the Curb Appeal category. Online voting is open through April 12. Winners will be announced on HGTV.com.

HGTV’s Ultimate Outdoor Awards celebrate landscape architects, architects and designers who are creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Participating designers compete in five categories: Curb Appeal, Gorgeous Gardens, Outdoor Oasis, Poolside Paradise, and Waterside Retreats. Voters select their favorite project in each category. The projects with the most votes will be recognized with the People’s Choice award. Contestants can also win the HGTV Editors’ Pick award if their project receives the most votes from the HGTV editorial team.

Chic Boho Farmhouse: 2022 HGTV Ultimate Outdoor Awards Nominee
Senior Interior Designer Jen Pinto and Residential Designer David Hall led the JDR team in the remodel of a dark, nondescript and outdated single-story La Jolla home a few blocks from the ocean. The homeowners wanted a modern farmhouse design with an open coastal feel. The JDR team managed every aspect of the extensive whole home remodel. The home’s distinct curb appeal encompasses meticulous detailing including shed roofs, board and batten, and rafter tails, along with boho elements, reclaimed wood, and patterned surfaces that echo the interior design and communicate a sense of appealing unity.

The judges will review the winners of the People’s Choice and the HGTV Editors’ Pick awards to select an overall winner based on the quality of the design work, innovation and creativity of the project, the relevance to the category, and the utilization of available square footage and materials.
