Come See Two JDR Kitchens and Meet Our Designers in Person at the ASID Kitchen & Bath Tour on October 27th!

Jackson Design and Remodeling is happy to announce that two of our kitchen remodeling projects (both part of whole home remodels) will be featured on the American Society of Interior Designers’ self-guided Fall Kitchen & Bath Tour on Saturday, October 27th. The tour, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., will showcase 15 beautifully remodeled kitchens and 6 baths at residences in San Diego County. JDR has two kitchens on the Fall Tour: A Colonial Coastal Kitchen in Del Mar and a Vibrant Eclectic Kitchen in Talmadge (College area).

Colonial Coastal:
As part of their whole home remodel, a retired couple with Maryland roots and a California coastal home wanted their kitchen to embrace its natural surroundings while honoring the aesthetics of East Coast Colonials. Strategic space planning was essential for this kitchen, which was moved to a part of the house that better captured ocean views and designed with three entrances for ideal access and circulation. This refreshing interpretation of Colonial aesthetics celebrates the light and air of coastal living while uniting careful layout choices, rigorous detailing and nostalgic elements that evoke an East Coast mood.

Vibrant Eclectic Kitchen:
In a kitchen full of vibrant color, engaging textures and an appealing blend of cultural influences, the homeowners’ artistic spirits are expressed with bold imagination and meticulous attention to detail. A creative couple wanted a new kitchen with modern functionality that honored the original character of their 1920s Spanish-style home. Space planning visually connects the kitchen with the rest of the home, creating an open line of sight from the back to the front and suffusing the area in natural light. A one-of-a-kind piece of rustic wood establishes a distinct area of the extra large island. Cabinets in darkly stained cherry wood against vibrant walls create exciting visual depth and richness in a kitchen that artfully integrates eclectic elements.
