Let’s Get Warm & Cozy: “Peach Fuzz” is Pantone’s 2024 Color of the Year

Inspired by our yearning for closeness and connection, Pantone’s Color of The Year, Peach Fuzz, is a “heartfelt peach hue communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration.” This is Pantone’s 25th color of the year, a tradition that is now highly anticipated by designers and design enthusiasts worldwide.

Landing somewhere in between pink and orange, this year’s choice feels soft and youthful, quite a contrast to 2023’s bold Viva Magenta. Pantone describes Peach Fuzz as a “velvety gentle peach tone, whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul.” The shade gives off some retro vibes, think 1970s and 1980s home design, which Pantone acknowledges by saying Peach Fuzz, “reflects the past yet has been refashioned with a contemporary ambiance.”

The “Fuzz” in this year’s color is a reference to its tactility: “It’s a warm and cozy shade. And it’s very tactile. We feel that at a time like this, tactility is really important — to touch other people and gather them into our homes,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute.

Ideal for rooms in your home where you want a nurturing, inviting feel, Peach Fuzz makes sense in the context of the warmer neutrals that are resurfacing in 2024. A creative choice to revitalize a bedroom or living space, Peach Fuzz could be an appealing alternative to pink when you want a space to feel more feminine. It pairs nicely with natural organic homes emphasizing earthy neutrals, greenery, and sustainable materials and could work on a statement accent wall or as a color element in accessories.
