Jackson Design and Remodeling Reveals Industry Blogger Award Winners!
(SAN DIEGO – April 20, 2016) – Jackson Design and Remodeling announced today the winners from the 7th annual JDR Industry Blogger Awards, recognizing the best blogs in the design and remodeling industry. This year, 44 influential blogs were nominated in six categories: Architecture, Interior Design, Remodeling, Construction Business, Green and Microblog.
The 2016 winners are:
The purpose of the JDR Industry Blogger Awards is to recognize influential design and remodeling bloggers through public voting. Giving fans a voice reaffirms the quality content these bloggers produce.
“We host the blogger awards every year to shine light on talented bloggers who are furthering the design industry in a positive way,” said Todd Jackson, Founder and CEO of Jackson Design and Remodeling. “Each year we see an incredible amount of people nominating and voting for their favorite bloggers. This year we had particularly close races in the Architecture and Interior Design categories. In the Architecture category, Life of an Architect and Archi Ninja traded first place back and forth for several weeks before Decoist came on strong and took the lead in the last days. In the Interior Design category, we had a very close race between One Kindesign and Sarah Sarna with the latter taking the lead as the contest drew to a close. With so many talented bloggers, it was one exciting competition.”
The winner in each category receives $500 cash and a 2016 JDR Industry Blogger Award Winner badge to display on their blog. Some winners choose to donate their winnings to community causes. BuildDirect, the 2015 winner in the Remodeling category, used their prize to support volunteer efforts in Vancouver, where the company is based.
This year, Jackson Design and Remodeling welcomed back many category winners from previous years. Decoist won the Architecture category for the third year while Miron Construction won the Business category for the second year in a row and Matt Risinger won the Green category for the third consecutive year.
“This was my third year as a nominee for the JDR Industry Blogger Awards in the Interior Design category,” said Sarah Sarna, Interior Design Winner. “And the third time I’ve been honored to be among such an amazing group of design bloggers (and designers). Centsational Girl is a blog I’ve been a fan of since long before I even thought of starting my own site! I also always enjoy Yvonne Blacker’s Design Vignettes blog, and enjoyed getting to know One Kindesign, Garrison Hullinger’s blog and design work, and The Stylish Nest. Thank you, Jackson Design and Remodeling, for including me in this stellar line up.”
While JDR hosts the design awards each year, it is up to the bloggers to inspire their fans to vote for the nominated bloggers. Voters were allowed one vote per person, per category, per device while voting was open to the public between February 29-April 15, 2016. All winners were chosen based on this voting method.
“So cool, this is my third year in a row,” said Matt Risinger, Green Category Winner. “I owe this win to my Twitter Tribe who got the vote out early for me! Thanks so much for having me in the contest. I can’t wait to announce this to my followers.”
